Help plan a Columbus vacation

Here's a Craigslist ad from someone planning a vacation to Columbus and is asking for things to do. I wonder if they're taking advantage of the cheap Skybus fares to get here.
Hi there! I'm 26 and married, and I'd rather not say my sex, just so I won't get any er, unwanted responses... What I'm looking for is info on where to eat / what to see around there, the last part of the first (full) week of November! We're coming in on an impromptu vacation, and we have no idea what to do! But we're excited about coming, neither of us have ever been out that way. I'm a total raving foodie. I'm so excited to get out and see what you guys have over there in the way of neat foods. I'm not talking the restaurant at the Hilton, mind, just unique foods at unique places, I love ethnic foods of any sort, including the rare sorts! Also treats. Any good treat-foods places out there? Killer desserts? Awesome bakeries? Oooo, bakeries...
My tip to this guy or gal is to checkout the Columbus Underground forums. There's always a lively foodie discussion going on there. Oh, and I'd be remiss to forget my friend's site The Fine Repast. Needless to say, it's nice to see that someone is coming to our town to check it out.

What Columbus Hotel Would You Go To For a Quick Getaway

Hands down, it's gotta be the Hilton Columbus at Easton. Staying there just feels like you're no longer in Columbus. And to me, that's the key to for a successful in town getaway. But, there are others that I would go to.  Like the Columbus Marriott Northwest or the Embassy Suites, both in Dublin.  I'd also like to try The Lofts in the Arena District.  What else?  Maybe the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites at Fort Rapids. And I've got an idea that I'd like to circulate.  You know in California and Florida, residents get discount tickets to Disneyland and Disney World, respectively.  Well, why don't these hotels give discount rooms to Central Ohio residents.  Discounts can probably only apply if there's a large block of unused rooms.  And the discounts would apply only the day of.  Thus, it would promote spur of the moment getaways.  I'd certainly be willing to do it if the discount was big enough.
