I just want to clarify something, Alvin. Grove City DID pass the levy. It was the others who did not, and that is why people are talking here about wanting to detach from South West. And it’s not just the sports. Grove City’s marching band has been winning accolades and awards for years. How sad for those kids who will now not be able to play their instruments, and possibly get music scholarships.

Not much to say. But this IS the best time of the year. Because today, at least in my mind, college football officially starts. I hope that your team does well. But come November, I’m hoping that your team doesn’t beat my team. Again.

Once upon a time, there was a charity chalk art event in Columbus. It’s name was Via Colori. The event started out in Naples. And events like it were licensed out to other charities, in other cities. Eventually it made its way to Columbus. And then it found its way out of Columbus. History and discussion here at the CU.

The event was on for this year. Then off. Then tentatively on. Then positively off. Then miraculously on. It won’t be called the Via Colori. But there will be chalk. And there will be pavement. And I’m sure, there will be fun.

Unofficial announcement is here, again at the CU. No time was announced. But, let’s assume daylight. The date is Saturday September 8 and Sunday September 9. At the North Market. If you want to participate as an artist, e-mail Mary at mmartineau@northmarket.com.

I’ll definitely be there. Except not at 3:30. I’ll be watching Michigan play Oregon. OSU fans will probably be there at noon, because OSU’s opponent that day is the Zips. OSU’s game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. Which means, they won’t be televised. Who carries that network anyways?

Almost all fan specific team sports blog are one sided. The Ohio State vs. Michigan Football rivalry blog is different. Alumni from both Ohio State and Michigan contribute to the blog, making for a lively and fun debate. I’m one of them, and so is Andy from the Fine Repast. We represent Michigan. Eric, of Ohio Landlord Tenant fame, represents Ohio State.

You’ll find that we each have different writing styles. Andy tends to pick fights with OSU fans. And that’s okay. Because it’s fun to see the fur fly. I’m less controversial and tend to link to Michigan good news and OSU bad news. I guess you’d call me passive aggressive. Eric is probably the most analytical and fair of the bunch. He used to be pretty obnoxious about things, but really toned it down after he lost a bet to me and had to wear a Michigan sweatshirt. But sadly for me, that was way back in the Cooper days. He is a true gentleman because he really doesn’t stick it in our face, our recent losing streak to the bucks.
