Today, I bought a Sunday paper and I discover no coupons. I probably should have known that the paper doesn't have them on holidays (some informed consumer I am), but nonetheless, I am livid. That's the whole point. I'm trying to clip and save a few cents. Thanks a lot Dispatch. How about you send me back my $1.75. Or I could use the paper as T.P. You know reuse, reduce, recycle.

Everyone my age and younger has just one question…what is The Dispatch?

  • wyliemac

That's the question the Dispatch has to answer. I don't think they've come up with one yet.

Giant Eagle used to sell the Sunday Dispatch for $0.99. When they stopped that, I renewed my subscription. If it weren't for the coupons, I would just read it online. You would think that in order to increase subscribers, the Dispatch would have a coupon section EVERY day.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer recently reorganized its sections and the "business section after the sports section" change was made here, too.

I read this on my BlackBerry yesterday and was going to comment but forgot. It was only when I was perusing the online Dispatch that I remembered how sucky their Business section is. Business First (even though it is a weekly) has much better coverage. The Dispatch treats it as an afterthought. If this is the impression folks get of Columbus from our newspaper, we must only be concerned about Buckeye football and the minutia of government (in that order). Pathetic.

I certainly understand the need to reduce costs. Newsprint is bleeding. But in making cuts, papers have to be mindful of perception. The business section needs to be front and center. No questions asked.
