So I’m a shallow guy and don’t think about issues such as this. Heck, when I first titled this post, I spelled “philanthropy” with an “ie” at the end. Thankfully though there are others that do think of more heady stuff than I. The blog Philanthropy Front and Center brings up an excellent question about what will happen with Wendy’s charity monies now that it was recently purchased by Arby’s (did you know that Arby’s stands for “America’s Roast Beef, Yes Sir!”?). The blog points out that Wendy’s gave $800,000 to charities in 2006, while Arby’s gave away $2,630,842. Hopefully, the merger won’t impact negatively with Wendy’s giving. Especially given the fact that they are such a good corporate citizen locally.
