@ali - glad you landed safely. Personally, I thought the seats looked pretty "modern" but then again I'm a kid from the '80s.

@Ashley - No doubt about the gas. I usually drive to Florida when going on vacation (flying family of 4 gets pretty expensive), but flying will probably be cheaper alternative

My sister's Skybus flight to Stewart was also canceled this weekend. Her flight was originally scheduled for Saturday evening, but was postponed until Sunday morning. Lucky for her, she had the seats -- so it wasn't TOO terrible.

The best part about Skybus traveling to Newburgh is that my home town is the next town over. Stewart is literally 10 minutes from my house in NY.

Until now, it was way too expensive to fly into Stewart and I usually flew to Newark when going home. This is very convenient for my family -- my parents can easily fly out to Columbus, and my sister and I can easily fly home. All for a pretty good price. Sure beats driving -- with gas prices these days!!!

I was on the flight that caused all of the cancellations. The windshield of the plan DID crack. About thirty minutes before landing, the flight attendants told us that we were going to have to emergency land and went over emergency landing procedures. Thankfully, we were able to land smoothly. When we left the plane, the cracked windshield was OBVIOUS.

My one complaint: Skybus advertises that they have ALL new planes. This plane did not appear to be new--the seats looked like they were straight out of the 80s.

Ali: The planes are all new. As an aside, where were you coming from/going when you had to emergency land?

My one complaint: Skybus advertises that they have ALL new planes. This plane did not appear to be new--the seats looked like they were straight out of the 80s.

My sister's Skybus flight to Stewart was also canceled this weekend. Her flight was originally scheduled for Saturday evening, but was postponed until Sunday morning. Lucky for her, she had the $10 seats -- so it wasn't TOO terrible.
