Hey Columbus Dispatch, wanna increase readership?

Then start twittering. And I’ll follow you. Don’t know what Twitter is? Then watch this video.

Here’s a sampling of news sites using Twitter that I follow.

I will typically visit a story link that one of these sites post on twitter. Yea, I know, wouldn’t it just be as easy to go to the Dispatch’s website?

Yea. But I’m a busy guy. But I do have my twhirl twitter client open all the time (twhirl is like your instant message client, but on steroids). Twhirl pings me whenever someone I’m following posts something on Twitter. For example, I got a ping from the New York Times:

The Lede: Bush’s Serenade Hits YouTube http://tinyurl.com/2oxufg 

So I clicked on the link to read the story. I probably would not have read it otherwise. But I did because of Twitter.
