Gilly Hicks video is definitely hot, but will it translate to success for Abrecrombie & Fitch?

Earlier today I tweeted some posts about the new Abercrombie & Fitch Aussi inspired concept Gilly Hicks. You’ll see the posts on the270 when it strikes midnight.

Anyways, the posts mention that Gilly Hicks’ advertising video contains topless women swimming and a nearly naked man. Well, he’s not nearly naked. He’s naked. And the women are topless. I’m glad I didn’t view the video at work, because it may have very well been my last day there. To be fair, Gilly Hicks did warn of showing some skin. But I didn’t think it would be real skin. I thought that they’d artfully cover up the, um, stuff.

So, Abercrombie stays with the sex sells playbook to open up its new concept. I wonder if it will be as successful as Abrecrombie & Fitch and Hollister?

The 270 for one, is rooting for their success.

    In my opinion I see nothing wrong with this video. Americans are just a tad bit cautious though. The human body is completely natural and normal. Nothing wrong with it. Then again I used to live in Italy so I guess that would make me quite more accepting of something like this. Grow up you prude women!

    I'm sure they factored in your type of reaction when they came up with their marketing plan. My daughter is a decade away from 16. I'll probably have the same reaction as you then.

    I was going to buy my 16 year old daughter some bras from here so I went to check the website out. Boy I was shocked and I am not going to let my daughter to go to some perverted sex store. I feel this video is gross and disgusting.
