There’s a magazine I just discovered called Long Weekends, which is basically one big ad for things to do in the Great Lakes area. It’s not bad and I highly recommend you check it out.
But I must say, I found the weekend getaway prize offered by Experience Columbus pretty weak, compared to the other prizes offered, such as a two night stay at a resort, plus dinner, plus two rounds of golf.
Here’s what Experience Columbus offers: One night stay at The Columbus, a $50 gift certificate at Mitchell’s and an Easton coupon book. Seriously, is that all we have to offer? One night? That’s not enough time to “experience” Columbus. And a $50 gift certificate? At Mitchell’s! That would barely cover the a la cart side dishes at dinner time. The prize winner would seriously have to shell out an additional buck fifty to have a nice meal and drinks. And finally, a coupon book. COUPONS? We don’t need not stinking coupons! Come on Experience Columbus. Shell out a real prize so that the winner can truly experience Columbus. And not feel jipped.
