Gosh I hope not. But my recent experiences there are not too promising. Yes, the food is good. And I love the atmosphere. But the service is slow. Not necessarily the wait staff. But the kitchen.
Yesterday, I went to the Max & Erma’s on Kenny and Henderson Road for lunch. It was not very busy. We got there at noon. Got seated immediately. Ordered at 12:10. And waited. Waited until 12:45 to get our meal, which consisted of burgers. Now does it really take over thirty minutes to get our lunch? It shouldn’t. But it did.
Worse. Our waitress did not once give us updates on food. She did not apologize for the delay. Plus, no manager came around to see if we were doing okay.
If this only happened once I wouldn’t be writing about this. But the Henderson restaurant isn’t the only one that has a slow kitchen. The Dublin restaurant is also slow. I’ve pretty much given up on them. However, my daughter loves that place, so we still go. I just know to eat a snack before I go there.
I truly hope that Max & Erma’s get their act together. It’s a Columbus institution. And it would be a shame if it went the way of Cookers.
